The Olympic tennis champion won 6:4, 6:1 against the 27-year-old local hero Sebastian Ofner, who started the tournament with a wildcard. In the tournament, which is endowed with 2.4 million euros, fifth-seeded Zverev will face the Briton Cameron Norrie (28) or Filip Misolic (22) from Austria in his next game.

Jan-Lennard Struff also came one round further at the ATP tournament in Basel, which was worth 2.3 million euros. The 33-year-old from Warstein moved into the round of 16 against the American Christopher Eubanks (27) after a 7:6 (9:7), 6:4.
